Shannon is the daughter of musician/conductor Brian Farnon and actress/singer Rita Oehmen. Her two sisters, Charmian Carr and Darleen Carr, also enjoyed successful careers in show business. In 1971, Shannon gave birth to twins. Daughter Julie is an LAUSD Art teacher, and former jewelry designer in Los Angeles. Son Jeremy died after a fall while skiing at the age of 24.
Best known as the creator of the voice of Wonder Woman on “Super Friends" and "Challenge of Super Friends," as well as the first actress to portray the Amazing Amazon in a recurring television role, Shannon’s career includes work in film, television, print work, voice-over work, and film/TV dubbing. Both on camera and as a voice-over performer, Shannon was a constant presence in the Commercial field, seen in several award-winning national ads, often as the spokesperson for the products. She now occasionally mentors/coaches young performers eager to learn the business.
